Further Than Capital's founding partners explain the three problems killing enterprise speed, why traditional GRC fails, and what will change in the next 2-3 years.

📹 Watch: Why Further Than Capital Invested in Nooga

We recently sat down with Per Björklund and Stefan Lindeberg, the two founding partners of Further Than Capital, to understand their investment thesis behind Nooga.

What started as a conversation about why they invested quickly revealed something deeper: a crisis hiding in plain sight across enterprise organizations.

"Where have you been all my life?"

That's what Stefan kept hearing when speaking with Nooga's customers and prospects. Not "interesting product" or "we'll consider it", but genuine relief that someone finally understood their problem.

When a leading Nordic VC hears that reaction repeatedly, they pay attention. Here's what they told us.

The Three Problems Hiding in Plain Sight

"In large organizations today, there are three fundamental challenges," explains Stefan Lindeberg, one of the founding partners at Further Than Capital.

First: Finding information. "There's so much information, so many documents, it's available, but it's really hard to find. Sometimes you need archaic tools that are hard to use just to locate what you need."

Second: Interpreting it. "Even if you find the information, what's applicable for what you're trying to do?"

Third: The impact on speed. "This slows down your entire organization. You have to wait for a central approval. You have to wait for somebody else's interpretation of the rules and policies."

Stefan shared a striking story: a head of cyber security asked their team to find an internal policy during a meeting. The cyber security team, the ones who had created the policy, couldn't find it in 15 minutes. They knew it was in SharePoint somewhere, but nobody could locate it.

Per Björklund, the other founding partner, observed the same pattern: "GRC always lags behind the core business. It's often seen as just a burden. GRC becomes more sand in the system than oil in the machinery."

Why Traditional Solutions Fail

"A problem that Nooga solves is that current GRC solutions are built as yet another system," Per explains. "Something that lies outside of the organization."

This adds another system to check, another workflow to remember, another silo where information lives in isolation.

"We see large companies being hindered in their innovation due to policies," Stefan adds. "The access to information, the lead time to get approval, this is hindering development in so many organizations."

What Made Them Invest

Further Than Capital looked for three critical pieces:

Deep domain expertise. "The founders have profound knowledge and experience from GRC, from modern technology and system development," Per notes.

Company-building experience. "Building a company is so much harder than most people think," Stefan explains. "We saw that experience in the team."

Technical capability. "You need the experience to build the tech, specifically the AI platform to deliver the services," says Stefan. "We saw all three pieces in Nooga."

Per summarizes: "Nooga has three core assets: the team and its knowledge and experience from this domain, the team's knowledge and skills when it comes to modern tech, and it solves a real problem that hasn't been possible to solve before modern technology entered the scene."

Beyond capabilities, there was proof: "Nooga has fantastic traction," Per reveals. "They already have a large number of customers on both sides of the Atlantic, many with very well-known brand names."

Why Now?

Two forces make this the right moment:

Rising regulation. "More and more industries are affected by regulations both at EU level and international agreements," Stefan explains.

AI breakthrough. "Modern technology makes it possible, and not only possible, actually necessary, to integrate AI so systems really support your day-to-day work," Per says.

Per's key phrase: "That hasn't been possible before modern technology entered the scene."

The Vision

"In the next two to three years, Nooga will enable companies to integrate GRC activities into their ordinary workflow in a natural way," Per predicts, "leading to higher customer satisfaction, better quality, and greater trust."

Stefan sees the practical impact: "People responsible for developing new products or software can themselves interact with the information. They don't have to wait for central approval. The speed of execution can be accelerated."

What This Means for You

Stefan's advice: "The problem Nooga is solving is here today. I would encourage everybody in regulated industries to reach out to the Nooga team and let them explain how they can help you solve today's problems."

Per frames it with questions: "How do you work today with GRC? How do you make sure it's not just a burden? How do you make sure your board doesn't have personal liability for things having been missed out when it comes to GRC?"

Nooga has the solution to all these questions.

"Where have you been all my life?" isn't just a customer quote, it's validation that Nooga is solving a real, urgent problem that's been hiding in plain sight.

As Per puts it: "That hasn't been possible before, but Nooga makes it possible."
